Green Space Dark Skies in Dorset

We’re excited to say that we will invite hundreds of people to come together in June 2022 to create a unique film in the heart of the Dorset Area of Outstanding National Beauty

Exciting news! Today we are announcing the launch of a new project, Green Space Dark Skies, taking place in June in the Dorset Area of Outstanding National Beauty (AONB).

20,000 Lumenators will journey to beautiful landscapes to create large-scale outdoor artworks. As a partner, we are working together to bring to life this ground-breaking celebration of the countryside and everyone’s right to explore it.

Green Space Dark Skies is one of 10 major projects commissioned as part of UNBOXED: Creativity in the UK, a ground-breaking UK-wide celebration of creativity in 2022. Led by outdoor arts pioneers Walk the Plank, Green Space Dark Skies takes place from April to September. Over six months, thousands of people will become Lumenators, carrying low-impact lights specially designed by Siemens to be sensitive to the night-time environment, at up to 20 different locations. There, we will create art outdoors, recorded by film and photography.

Here in Dorset, Activate is inviting hundreds of people to become Lumenators and to come together in June to create a unique film in the heart of the Dorset Area of Outstanding National Beauty. To get involved, and register your interest in becoming a Lumenator, visit www.greenspacedarkskies.uk
