  • Freelance Dance Artist / Choreographer ‘Performing Dunescapes’

    Activate are looking for a creative DANCE ARTIST / CHOREOGRAPHER to collaborate with hip hop artist/ producer Isaiah Dreads, young people and the National Trust on a new creative project called ‘Performing Dunescapes’, in Purbeck, Dorset. You will be experienced in urban / contemporary dance styles and will be able to deliver workshops with young people, connecting them to the landscape of Studland’s sand dunes. September – November 2022, Dorset FEE: £1,800 plus expenses & the cost of any access requirements

  • Volunteers Stewards and Performers – Peixos by Sarruga, Weymouth Town Centre

    In the  partnership with We Are Weymouth and Weymouth Town Council, Activate is bringing another spectacle for Weymouth audiences to enjoy this September. Peixos by Sarruga is a spellbinding parade inside an eerie underwater world featuring luminescent sea creatures and gigantic bicycle-powered wizardry. It's our amazing volunteers that make our events possible. Do you fancy becoming part of our volunteer team for this Dusk To Dark Illuminations presentation? We have 2 volunteer opportunities available: Parade Stewards and Crew/Performer roles.

  • Office Administrator

    Artsreach is looking to appoint a dynamic, pro-active individual with strong communication skills and at least 3 years administrative experience. You will be part of a small team supporting volunteers to deliver a programme of theatre, dance and music to communities across Dorset. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the staff team, Board of Trustees, volunteers and artists to ensure that the office team are supported with administrative, financial and evaluation procedures for the successful delivery of the Artsreach programmes and supporting the organisation with day-to-day administration, publicity requirements and database entry. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape this new role and improve on existing office systems and procedures, whilst confidently managing their time to deliver daily tasks. Minimum starting salary, £20,444 pro-rata This part-time job is 20 hours per week based at Little Keep, Dorchester, with some flexibility of hours such as working within school hours/term time only. This post is advertised as a 6 month part time contract with potential for a permanent position subject to grant funding. The post-holder will lead on the BCP Cultural Strategy and plan and be responsible to the Compact board for the effective leadership of the Compact’s operations, organisational and strategic development, as well as its effective engagement with government, organisations, communities, groups and creatives in support of inclusive and diverse cultural participation and promotion. You, as Lead Artist will work closely with Lisa Lort, Dance Producer for Wellbeing, alongside a collaborative in-studio team, including Dorset Mind's Health Practitioner Amy and Cornerstone Academy Talk-About specialist, Fran to deliver fun and supportive dance workshops that help to improve confidence, connectivity and wellbeing.
