Meet The Team

Bill Gee

Inside Out Dorset, Co-artistic Director

Bill has worked in a variety of roles, art forms and contexts for the past 30 years, most recently as a creative and festival director working with a variety of art form practices for diverse audiences, particularly in outdoor and public realm contexts.

Bill is the creative director of IF Milton Keynes International Festival, and co-artistic director of the Inside Out Dorset festival produced by Activate Performing Arts. He is Artistic Associate of the Bloomsbury Festival and leads on the Seedbed R&D programme at 101 Outdoor Arts Creation Centre. In 2019 he worked with Made in Corby and the Core at the Cube to deliver the Corby GROW festival.

His creative consultancy work has seen him help the Mayor of London develop concept ideas for an Aerial Art Park in East London and for the Canal & River Trust develop a major project for celebrating the past and embracing the future of the canals in London. 2012 saw the successful delivery of a £1M + programme, Secrets: Hidden London a series of commissions developed by Bill, for less well known London outdoor locations, such as canals and lidos from organisations such as the Royal Opera House, English National Ballet, Natural History Museum.

Previously, Bill has has run festivals and programmes for Artichoke; Canal & River Trust, Imagineer, Mayor of London, De La Warr Pavilion; Canary Wharf Group; NOTT Dance and Nottinghamshire County Council he has produced work by artists including Kaffe Matthews; Metis Arts; Jyll Bradley; Dries Verhoeven; Gob Squad and Architects of Air.

Bill is regularly invited to speak, give papers and undertake consultancy, research and mentoring projects for Creative People and Places projects, Mayor of London, ACE and others.
Bill was the Chair of Bristol based IBT, he was the Chair of ISAN – the national organisation for Outdoor Arts.
