We are excited to welcome Maheen Mohammadally to the Activate team as our new Producer (Theatre and Engagement).

Maheen brings a wealth of experience as a producer, writer and director with over 20 years working across theatre, education, community engagement and large-scale public events.

Her career has spanned freelance theatre producing, directing and writing, alongside roles in education and project leadership. She has produced work ranging from intimate theatre productions to large-scale cultural events, including Eid in the Square, the Mayor of London’s annual celebration of Muslim culture. Most recently, as Education Coordinator at The Grange Festival, she developed programmes bringing opera and creativity to young people and communities, including an outdoor arts festival in partnership with Hampshire Music Service and the University of Winchester.

At Activate, Maheen will lead on theatre and engagement projects and the delivery of professional development for creatives. She will be key in building and nurturing relationships across Dorset, and in evaluating the impact of Activate’s activities.

Maheen says “Joining Activate feels like a wonderful opportunity to bring together the things I care most about: theatre, creativity and community. I’m excited to work with artists, participants and partners across Dorset, helping create ambitious and meaningful experiences that bring people together. Activate’s belief that anything’s possible and everyone’s invited really resonates with me, and I’m looking forward to discovering what we can create together.

We’re sure Maheen is going to be a great asset to our team!
