Activate will support the development and presentation of ambitious new outdoor work by artists based in the UK.
Activate Performing Arts are delighted to announce that we are joining Without Walls Artistic Directorate network to commission and present the Without Walls Programme from 2025 onwards. The Artistic Directorate is responsible for curating an annual programme of new outdoor shows, which is intended to represent the best new work being created in the UK.
Without Walls is keen to ensure that their festival partners represent a broad geographic spread across England and that members bring a range of commissioning and artform expertise.
A key priority for the ongoing development of the Without Walls Artistic Directorate is the inclusion of more diverse voices and organisations. Activate are thrilled that we will join the Artistic Directorate alongside two other new members; Inspirate and Birmingham Hippodrome.
Kate Wood, Activate’s Executive Director and joint Artistic Director said ‘I, along with joint Artistic Director, Bill Gee and Outdoor Arts Producer, Dom Kippin and the Activate team are so pleased to be invited to join the Artistic Directorate at Without Walls. We join an experienced and passionate partnership invested in supporting, commissioning and touring contemporary outdoor arts. We appreciate the time and commitment that goes into being a member of the Directorate, and look forward to being a new partner.’
Everyone at Activate is also thrilled to see former Activate team member and freelancer, Kate McStraw become the new Without Walls Access Advisor.
We look forward the next steps alongside all of our new colleagues.
