Trygve Wakenshaw presents SQUIDBOY

A co-presentation between The Lyric and Activate Performing Arts

For those that came to see Trygve last summer at The Lyric in Kraken and Nautilus you'll understand how excited we are at his return to Bridport! Since coming to The Lyric to perform these shows as his Edinburgh previews last year we've spotted Trygve headlining comedy theatre festivals all over the country. We're thrilled to have him back for two nights and two different shows. Squidboy is the third (or first, rather) in the underwater themed trilogy completed by Kraken and Nautilus.

Touring since it exploded to cult success at Edinburgh Fringe in 2013, Squidboy has been picking up awards and selling out around Australia, New Zealand and the UK. This award-winning, critically acclaimed physical comedy is all about the power of a squid's imagination, a fisherman recounting his past love, and the links that bring the two together.

Performed on an empty stage, Trygve summons treadmills, bags of crisps, a lion, a dog, a girlfriend and the romance of Jacques Brel with his bendy limbs, rubbery face, and loopy word-play. Trygve's playfulness bounces around the stage and even spills out into the auditorium where the audience are invited and encouraged to play along; eating imaginary crisps and believing in the world that is both there and not there.

Trygve will also be performing a 'best of' evening the following night, a compilation of his solo shows that he's put together especially for Lyric audiences!

Tickets are £12 per show, or £20 for both, and are available from Bridport Arts Centre: 01308 424204 / and BearKat Bistro at The Lyric. Both shows start 8pm, doors & bar open 7:30pm.
