The Remix : World Book Day Inspired Workshop

Exploring the themes of 'Dogman', the 2020 World Book Day book by Dav Pilkey, join The Remix for a creative performing arts based workshop.

About this Event: Join The Remix East Artistic Director, Aimee Hobbs to explore the themes covered in the World Book Day 2020 book; 'Dogman' by Dav Pilkey.

This is a free, hour long workshop of performing arts fun and creativity, suitable for ages 7-14.

Qualified support staff available throughout the workshop.

The Remix is an inclusive youth performance company open to young people age 12 -19 both disabled and non-disabled from across Dorset. Premix is a group set up for younger people and is aimed at 7-11yr olds.

The Remix and Premix members include young people with physical and sensory impairments, young people with learning difficulties and non-disabled young people, all with a love of performance and the willingness to stretch themselves and have fun.


Weymouth Library will also be running a Plasticine animation workshop with James Price, based on the same themes, from 10am-1pm. Use imagination to create animation and make your own dog hero! Free workshop for children aged 5+ (children under 8 must be accompanied). Separate booking required.


More about The Remix: The Remix has around 45 young people involved and continues to produce fantastic, high quality inclusive performance opportunities for young people in Bournemouth, Poole and across other areas in Dorset. The Remix meet once a month, with groups in the East and West of the county.

Over the years The Remix has worked with internationally renowned companies including CandoCo Dance Company, Graeae Theatre Company, Choreographer, KMA , Cirque Bijou and StopGap Dance Company. They have performed in theatres and spaces all across the South West and in London.

The Remix is managed by Activate Performing Arts. It advocates for and delivers, diversity and equality of opportunity in culture and learning. The Remix team includes qualified care staff who are on hand to assist at all residencies and workshops. The project is overseen by Michaela Shaw, Activate's Producer for Youth dance and Diversity and Project Manager; Jude Allen, based at Activate Performing Arts.
