Are you a budding writer eager to learn more about writing for theatre? These free online workshops will give you a flavour of the process of writing a play. You may not have much experience but you’ll bring plenty of raw talent and ideas to share.
Join actor, writer and director Rohan Gotobed as he leads discussion and exercises to improve your writing skills. You’ll learn how to get started, the importance of structure, developing your characters and how best to edit.
Workshop 1 – Thursday 4 March, 6-7.30pm
Starting out – getting ideas, working with form, time and space
Workshop 2 – Thursday 11 March, 6-7.30pm
Making a play – structure, characters, dialogue
Workshop 3 – Thursday 18 March, 6-7.30pm
Rewriting – editing, reading aloud

Rohan Gotobed has written and directed plays around the UK and is currently the trainee director at the Unicorn Theatre in London. He also runs Coast to Coast, a new writing company that specialises in producing socio-political plays. As an actor, he has appeared in Slaughterhouse Rulez and Harry Potter.
The workshops are free to attend but by signing up you are committing to all four sessions.
Open to those over 18, places are limited and must be booked in advance .
