International dance from Spain co-presented by Pavilion Dance South West and Lighthouse
Euripede's Medea is one of the most dramatic tales of betrayal ever written.
In this contemporary re-imagining we witness the loved and the unloved, the cherished and the scorned, pitting themselves against one another using a rich, physical dance language that moves from energetic and powerful to fragile and intimate within seconds.
Medea confronts us with our own weaknesses and rages, played out by the characters lashing out and in turn being wounded. The skill and athleticism of the dancers is heightened by an intense electronic sound score and a striking white set bathed in a stirring lighting design by Peter Lundin.
