A Folk Musical By Philippa Herrick

R&D by the Sea gives artists use of the theatre and its facilities, normally for a 5-day period, to develop their work. We’ve invited writers, actors, theatre makers and practitioners of all kinds to come to Lyme Regis. And at the end of their week-long stay, we’ve invited these artists to give a work-in-progress performance to share what they’ve found. With you.

A Folk Musical

Live folk music, songs and dance combine in this work-in-progress showing of an original new musical. Adapted from the epic novel, Toilers of the Sea by Victor Hugo, and fusing the worlds of folk music, physical theatre, contemporary dance and musical theatre, this is a tale of one man’s quest to win love. A love story on an epic scale spanning 30 years.
It would be great if you could make it to their sharing on 6th February. You’ll get a chance to chat to the company afterwards and fill out a feedback form with your thoughts. We’d love to hear what you think.
To book, call Lyme Regis Tourist Information Centre on 01297 442 138 or email your ticket requirements to julia@marinetheatre.com.
