Street in the Park

Street in the Park takes place annually at Dorchester’s Borough Gardens. It is a free family-friendly event that showcases local dance and music artists.

Street in the Park was conceived to give music technology students from Weymouth College a performance platform to showcase their end of year work. It has since grown to become a fantastic community event highlighting the amazing local talent right here in Dorset. Performances from professional and semi-professional street dance, rap and hip hop artists create a fantastic atmosphere, along with local food and drink vendors offering audiences something if they get peckish.

Up & Coming DJ Competition

In the lead up to Street in the Park an Up & Coming DJ Competition is held, with support from AIR 107.2 FM. This competition is open to Dorset-based DJs who have not earned money as a DJ previously. For the winners, there are cash prizes and the opportunity to perform at Street in the Park and other local events and venues.
