Introducing ZoieLogic Dance Theatre (ZLDT)

ZoieLogic Dance Theatre, led by founding Artistic Director Zoie Golding, challenges perceptions of
what dance is, who it is for and how it is presented.
We’re on a mission to get more people involved in dance, especially men and boys and those less
likely to see or take part in the arts. We make this happen by creating and touring professional dance
theatre shows, and through our outreach, engagement, and talent development programmes. 2020 is
our 20th anniversary year.

ZLDT is a Community Interest Company with both a Non-Executive Director’s board and Advisory
Board chaired by Michael Ockwell, CEO Mayflower Theatre Southampton.

Current activity
2020 has been an extraordinary and challenging year due to the Coronavirus pandemic. ZLDT has
been able to respond to the challenges faced by the arts/culture sector by adapting our artistic vision
for the year and taking action.

Our small team continued to work from home throughout lockdown, and has delivered an outdoor
tour of RIDE to care homes and retirement villages, and launched our first large scale socially
distanced participation project, The Grid Experience. We have kept our youth dance companies
running and have taken part in digital projects with partners including Greenwich Dance. We believe
in finding ways through difficult times together, and proudly fly the flag for the healing and unifying
power of dance.

We have a provisional programme of activity in place for 2021/22, which will adapt if Coronavirus
causes new challenges and barriers to activity. These plans include an eight-week tour of our smash
hit show SLEUTH in Autumn 2021, a dance film project made with the residents of Southampton’s
Holyrood Estate, and several more editions of The Grid Experience

The Role
The Project Coordinator is a new role for the organisation at administration / coordination level (see
organisational structure) reporting to the Head of Engagement. The role is central to the success of
the company’s activity plans and the post holder will work closely with all team members.

This employed role includes access to regular coaching and other professional development

Office Location
Current (temporary): Tower House, Town Quay Road, Southampton, SO14 2NY. From Jan 2021: Studio 144, Above Bar Street, Southampton, SO14 7DU

This role is office based (in non-Coronavirus times) but we will consider flexible working.

Fixed term to March 2023 with 3 months’ probation.
Full time :40 hours per week contract.
£18,000 per annum
Some evening and weekend work will be required. No overtime is payable. TOIL is given.

This role exists to help bring the Artistic Director’s vision alive through coordination and practical delivery of
projects, and to support the effective and efficient running of the company at an administration level.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of Engagement
RESPONSIBLE FOR : Projects Assistant (Intern)
The Project Coordinator works closely with the Artistic Director, Head of Engagement and Executive Director
in the delivery of the company’s artistic and strategic aims.
Strategic Planning
1. Support the development of the artistic vision and contribute to development of the annual
objectives in the Business Plan.
2. Contribute to all company meetings and team planning days

Artistic Delivery

1. Provide administrative support to the Head of Engagement to deliver a spectrum of participation

projects working with communities, venues and education partners ensuring high quality delivery.
2. Support workshops sessions as required.
3. Coordinate touring logistics including issuing contracts, schedules, accommodation and transport
bookings, sourcing materials and booking equipment.

Communications and Marketing
1. Support the delivery of targeted marketing plans working closely with the Head of Communications,
Digital Media Manager and Head of Engagement to create a joint approach to ensure targets are

3. Contribute to Team Logic communications and social media as required.

Administration and Company Management
1. Ensure a smooth flow of information throughout the company
2. Contribute to the efficient running of the company office and its systems

Financial and Legal
1. Responsible for logging expenditure and income in delegated project budgets
2. Provide administrative support to financial systems
3. Bank cheques and cash within three working days

Networking and Advocacy
1. Promote and advocate for the company and its work where appropriate
2. Attend company and production meetings, sharings, platforms, previews, press nights, fundraising
events and other ZLDT events as required.

Governance, Legal and Compliance
1. Attend board meetings and act as Company minute taker
2. To adhere to agreed company policy, practice and procedures: including Health and Safety, Equal
Opportunities, Children and Vulnerable Person’s policies
3. Ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act.

Evaluation and Monitoring
1. Contribute to the evaluation of the artistic programme and business strategy collecting and
documenting data.
2. Contribute to the collection of monitoring data

HR and Line Management
1. Line manage the Projects Assistant, supported by the Executive Director.
2. To contribute to appraisal and review of members of the operational team as appropriate.

1. To attend scheduled team and project meetings
2. Any other duties that may reasonably be expected in order to support the delivery of the company’s
aims and objectives
3. Adhere to all company policies and procedures including Safeguarding (training will be provided)
