Women Leaders South West - Application Open for 16 Associates

Women Leaders South West
Empowering Women of all Backgrounds to be Leaders in the Arts

Applications now open

We had to delay recruitment for this programme due to the impact of COVID-19, however, we are delighted that we are now able to reopen the application process.

We are now looking for 16 women associates. You may have creative ideas that you want to see happen for yourself or your community. We will invite you to take part in a leadership training programme and support you on a leadership journey.

You will be:

  • passionate about arts and culture
  • over 21 years old
  • interested in developing new skills
  • rooted in your local community
  • based in the South West region - BCP (Bournemouth Christchurch Poole), Plymouth, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth, Southampton, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Gloucestershire BANES & Bristol which means that you live and/or work here.

You do not need a higher education qualification. You do need to have at least two years' work experience (however, this does not need to be in the arts).

We are particularly interested in working with women from groups who are most under-represented at leadership level in the cultural sector including disabled women and women from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds.

Full details of the programme and how to apply can be found in the ‘Women Leaders South West Pack PDF’ on our website: https://activateperformingarts.org.uk/project/women-leaders-sw

Please note that there are also BSL, audio & large print versions of the Women Leaders South West Pack and FAQs on the website.

The application deadline is 9am on Monday 16th November 2020.

The Women Leaders South West project is run by a group of eight arts organisations and one business school.

The project also involves the WOW Foundation, which is a global movement to celebrate women and girls and take a frank look at the obstacles they face. An Arts Council England Transforming Leadership grant is funding the project.
