Support Worker Vacancy
Diverse City are seeking maternity cover for a Support Worker.
They will assist disabled artists of our Extraordinary Bodies Young Artists
company, starting July 2016.

We are seeking a Support Worker with a keen interest in performing arts,
to support professional and emerging disabled artists.
The role will include:
- Support during regular weekly rehearsals
- Support at performances, residencies, workshops and other events or festivals
- Personal care and enabling work, either supporting a single participant or a group
Hours & Salary
This is a flexible position, with an average of 8 hours per month.
Hours will include evening and weekend work.
Rate of pay is £11/hour.
Support time required will range from a few hours at a time, to a residency away lasting a few days. These will be notified in advance.
- A genuine desire to work with young people
- Safeguarding knowledge
- At least 6 months experience in a supporting role (voluntary or paid)
- Passionate about change
- Available on Tuesday evenings 7:00 -8:30 in Bournemouth
- Experience of supporting people with learning disabilities, or physical or sensory impairments.
- Knowledge of alternative communication methods, (eg. British Sign Language, Makaton, symbol communication systems)
- A keen interest in the creative arts (dance, drama, music, film making, circus)
- First Aid trained
The successful candidate will need an up to date DBS check (we can support this process if necessary).
