Applications are invited to contribute to our BA (Hons) Creative Writing course.

We are seeking an experienced creative writing teacher with a sound industry background to join our evolving team. The successful individual will be highly experienced in teaching a wide-range of creative writing techniques including, but not limited to, Fiction, Poetry, Creative Non-fiction and Scriptwriting, within the higher education sector. The individual will contribute to and lead on the delivery and assessment of various units at all levels, depending on areas of specialism and experience.

Educated to PhD Level, applicants should have excellent grounding in or knowledge of a range of writing forms, styles and genres, as well as an understanding of creative and critical theory. The ability to develop students’ awareness of the publishing industry is highly desirable as is the ability to contribute to supporting a diverse range of student pastoral needs. A strong publication profile is also highly desirable. A research degree or evidence of research activity is essential, as we would look forward to the post holder contributing to our research community.

The post holder will work closely with the Course Leader and be responsible for managing the effective learning of students and the delivery of high quality provision. The post holder will also be expected to actively engage in student recruitment, course administration and additional duties as required for the successful running of the course. The post holder will liaise with external consultants to deliver specialist teaching and be involved in live projects for teaching and research.
