Job description: Cape Farewell Manager
£18,189 p.a., two-three days per week (or equivalent).
To deliver a program of international work and other activities as specified by the Director and Cape Farewell Board.
The charity Cape Farewell champions cultural engagement with the climate challenge. Working with over 350 international artists and 60 climate scientists it has delivered public facing cultural works that interrogate climate change as a cultural responsibility. This activity is delivered through specified programmes of work, artists’ commissions and public engagement. It is financed primarily though grants and public donation. The organisation is now based in Dorchester, Dorset and the applicant will be expected to work from the Cape Farewell office at Little Keep. The successful applicant will be expected to travel occasionally, both nationally and internationally, to deliver programmes of activity.
Essential skills and experience:
good writing ability
good people management, working closely with artists, curators and institutions to commission and showcase media and artworks in the UK and internationally
software experience including spread sheets (Apple Computers, Microsoft Word and Excel)
self-management of time and efficient work practice.
Desirable skills and experience:
grant and report writing
technical management skills
Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Web input)
