Poole Museum Service has a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, creative and well organised Fundraising and Membership Officer to develop and implement its new membership programme and manage its fundraising activities.

This is a temporary maternity cover contract, to December 2018, four days a week (days and hours flexible).

This is a key moment in the development of the service and its new charitable support organisation, the Poole Museum Foundation. The post-holder will play a critical role in the future of the Foundation and will shape its membership scheme, creating an exciting activity programme and using a Subscriber database as a platform for membership and fundraising activity.

There are plans for a major Poole Museums capital project and the post holder will develop the match fundraising scheme, as well as seek funding for an ambitious and exciting exhibition programme.

Poole Museum is the most popular free attraction in Dorset and its most visited museum, as well as the fifth most popular free attraction in South West England. The service leads the Wessex Museums Partnership, which has recently been granted National Portfolio Organisation status and funding for 2018-22 by Arts Council England.

The post holder will work in the Poole Museum open plan office as a key member of a friendly and creative team.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for the role.
