Dance in Health Training Day
Tuesday 22 September,
10am – 3pm
Siobhan Davies Dance, Siobhan Davies Studios, 85 St George’s Road, London SE1 6ER
Join us for a free day of training on dance in health.
The training will provide dance professionals with the knowledge and skills to build partnerships with the health and wellbeing sector and to develop opportunities for new dance programmes and funding.
The training is suitable for dance strategic leads, practitioners and managers. Engaging with health is not about dance organisations or practitioners necessarily changing what they do but about linking to the health and wellbeing sector and maximising the opportunities for dance this brings.
Places on the training course are funded by the Arts Council and at no cost to participants.
Note: Please give 7 days notice of cancellation. There will be a £50 cancellation fee for non-attendance on the day without 7 days prior notice.
Latest information on the health benefits of dance across the life course including summarising the evidence base and research
Presentation of different dance models and approaches to delivering health outcomes; from preventing obesity or mental ill health through to delivering health education messages through dance performance
Information on the commissioning process and how the dance sector can fundraise effectively around health outcomes and evaluate projects effectively

Dance and Health Networking Event
Following the training a Dance and Health Networking event will take place later in the year to give an opportunity for dance professionals to meet health sector commissioners and managers and build partnerships. Further details about the networking event and how to get involved will be given on the training day.
