Female Circus Performer for Lost In Translation Circus

Lost in Translation Circus is looking for a new female circus artist for the creation of their new outdoor show – Cirque Bordello.

We are ideally looking for someone with teeterboard skills, though will also consider a flyer/acrobat.  We are looking for a performer with a strong stage presence, either with a good experience of clowning or a keenness to develop these skills. Secondary circus skill set and musical skills also useful.  Ability to work and create well in a group, and willingness to chip in creatively and physically is essential.

The show will be in creation this spring with residencies in France (confirmed), Brussels (confirmed) and England (funding pending).  There is a possibility of a couple of trial dates over this summer, but primarily the show will be ready for touring summer 2016 with rehearsals most likely in winter 2015/spring of 2016. Availability will be required over March and beginning of April and possibly for a week or two in May/June.  Some additional training time with the group may be required depending on the skill level and exact skill-set.

About the show – Cirque Bordello is a site-specific show created for a building, based around the eccentric and rundown Hotel Bordello. Centred on a narrative conflict between Big Mama and her family who run the hotel, and The Banker who wants to repossess it, the show is a mixture of circus spectacle, comedic theatre and street event. It has 6 performers (5 circus performers and 1 actor)
