DISCOVERY ARTIST CALL OUT 2018-2019 – LITHUANIA

Pavilion Dance South West (PDSW), the Lithuanian Culture Institute and the Lithuanian Embassy in the UK are collaborating to offer a Dance Artist or Company, based in, or with a direct connection to Lithuania the opportunity to become a Discovery Artist with us.

PDSW DISCOVERY ARTISTS

Being a Discovery Artist with PDSW enables us to get to know each other. We are curious about creating a supportive relationship with you, your work and exploring creative partnerships between Lithuania and the U.K. We want to assist you in developing your dance practice and we hope this programme will allow us to indulge in creative conversations inside and outside the studio. You may wish to explore new ideas, connect with British and Eastern-European communities or respond with creative outcomes and audience initiatives. This may help you further consider your practice or perhaps create new work for a professional context. Whatever your ambition, this is a testing ground and PDSW will be here to support you.

LITHUANIAN CULTURE INSTITUTE AND LITHUANIAN EMBASSY IN THE UK

Juste Kostikovaite, the Lithuanian Culture Attache in the UK is working closely with the Lithuanian Culture institute, Arts Printing House and Dance information Centre in Lithuania. Together with the Lithuanian Culture Institute, the Lithuanian Culture Attache in the UK is pleased to announce this collaboration and support this project with hopes that this opportunity will trigger further dance development projects between the UK and Lithuania.

Expression of Interest

400 words and/or a short video (less than 5 minutes in length)

We would like to get an idea of your vision and your ambitions for your work. We are interested in work that connects with people, leaving an impression on them that lasts long after the artist has gone. The connection may be conversations, workshops, working in a specific community or public location, sharing ideas and practice.

This can be written (400 words maximum) or a video (5 minutes maximum).  You will be directly supported by PDSW staff, including the Producer (Programme and Artist Development), and will also have access to members of our Engagement and Marketing teams, so please think about how you would benefit from this opportunity and be specific in expressing your aims.
