We are looking for an individual to support our craft workshops when staff are on holiday or have sickness. Sometimes this means leading a workshop, other times supporting. The role requires the ability to be flexible and to respond to the need as required.
This is a Maternity Contract for one year.
8.45-5pm – Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri,
8.45-3.00pm – Wednesday
= 34.25 hours per week/ 1 hour unpaid lunch break /£8.59 per hour
The lantern workshop offers meaningful day opportunities to 63 adults with a learning disability over the week. There are 3 retail workshops and 6 craft workshops.
Duties Include:
- To provide and facilitate a variety of Craft activities and experiences to Companions in a workshop setting. Ensuring the projects offered are supporting the needs of the individual as well as ensuring the stability of the group.
- Work as part of the workshop team, deputising for the Team Leader in their absence.
- To work alongside Companions in the Lantern Community workshops, directing, supporting and facilitating the tasks that need to be done, whilst ensuring that the Companions are involved in meaningful work as part of the team.
- To work with Companions to support a healthy and supportive work life, fulfil their potential for independence, widen their choices and contribute to the wider community.
