Call out for Community Dancers for Sea Music project

Sea Music intergenerational dance project

Call out for community dancers

Aged 12 – 100 years old

Come and join professional choreographer Sophie Nüzel in making a performance piece on the Sir Anthony Caro sculpture on Poole Quay to be performed on 21st October 2017

Can you hear the sounds of the sea?

With a mixed cast of different ages and dance experience we would like to create a dance piece to be staged on the sculpture Sea Music.

Using Sea Music as inspiration we will listen to the sounds of the sea and the stories it has to tell. Together we will translate those stories into movement creating a piece to be staged on and around Sea Music, as part of the Exhibition Opening at Poole Museum on 21st October 2017

This opportunity is for people aged 12 - 100 years with and without dance experience. The main requirement is a willingness to work as a group, be open to ideas and happy to perform. There is no charge, but it is also vital that you can commit to all rehearsals and performance.

Taster session on Sunday 24th September 1.30- 4 at Poole Museum.

Rehearsals on Saturday 7th, Sunday 8th, Saturday 14th, Sunday 15th October 11- 4.

Thursday 19th 6-8, Friday 20th 6-8. Performance Saturday 21st 10- 4

This event is part of the Sea Music Project to conserve and celebrate the 25 year old sculpture by Anthony Caro. The project is supported by Heritage Lottery Fund, Arts Council England, Borough of Poole, Activate.
