Overview : Artsreach is a registered charity which aims to enrich the quality of life of people living in the rural communities of Dorset by providing outlets for, and access to, the arts, including professional theatre, dance and music. It aims to build upon existing resources and facilities to provide a challenging environment in which individuals and communities can develop their own creative potential.

Artsreach is seeking to recruit a freelance fundraiser on an initial 12 month freelance contract to deliver the Artsreach Fundraising Strategy 2017. We envisage that the work will involve 4 eight hour days per month.

It is a requirement of the contract to spend time in Dorset working directly with Artsreach staff, trustees and volunteer promoters.

Terms of commission: 12 month freelance contract, £10,000

Reports to: Executive Co – Directors

Main Job Duties

The Main Activities of the role are to deliver the Artsreach Fundraising Strategy 2017.

The work will include:

• Research, identify and apply for new sources of funding

• Develop an individual donor base including a supporters scheme, high net worth individuals and legacy giving

• Maintain relationships with existing sponsors, developing new sponsorship opportunities and increasing income from the business community

• Planning and delivery of fundraising events Supporting Activities

• Trust and grant fundraising

• Maintaining a data base of actual and potential contributors

• Ensuring alignment between fundraising activities and the use of Artsreach Website

• Develop a ‘fund-raising philosophy’ in conjunction with the executive co-directors and trustees, throughout the extended organisation

Key Attributes of the Role

• Experience of charity income generation from individual donors, businesses and/or trusts and foundations

• Administrative experience of donor based giving • Excellent advocacy, diplomacy, communication and negotiation skills

• Proven organisational skills

• Strong networking skills

• A creative thinker with a passion for the arts

• Ability to be self-motivated and work unsupervised
