Sherborne ArtsLink is an arts charity which provides high quality courses, classes, trips, and events for the whole community in Sherborne and the surrounding area. Our work is about learning, activity, engagement and interaction. ArtsLink’s programme embraces two key areas – core activities for an adult audience, and the Big Lottery funded TakepArt programme for children, young people and families.
To apply you must be aged 18 - 24 and be either unemployed or in non-contracted employment.
Hours, pay, and place of work
6 month contract, 30 hours per week, with some weekend and evening work required. Pay is the national minimum wage. Work base is in Sherborne, Dorset, with duties required at venues in and around the town.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Marketing - placing advertisements, producing flyers, updating social media and website
Data – Collecting and recording customer details. Assisting preparation of reports and evaluation
Attending meetings and general office duties
Arts Activity Support - Preparing venue and resources and clearing at end. Liaising with tutors. Greeting customers. Supporting practical sessions. Working with volunteers.
Events Support - Venue set up and take down including moving equipment. Greeting audience.
General - Follow all Sherborne ArtsLinks policies and practices. Be a public ambassador for charity. To ensure a professional service is delivered to our customers all the staff team must be willing to undertake other appropriate duties from time to time.
Graduate preferred, but educated to Level 3 minimum.
Good organisational skills
Able to work varied hours including some evenings and weekends
Computer literate, including MS Excel, Word, Publisher, internet, social media
Driving licence/own transport needed
Experience working in a team, in the voluntary/arts sector
