Relationship Manager, Combined Arts

Bristol Office

Salary: £31,348 per annum plus excellent benefits

Contract: Permanent, working 35 hours per week

We are looking for someone to work with our Combined Arts portfolio across the South West of England, supporting an exciting range of organisations and artists working across art forms.

In this key role you’ll have a focus on building empowering and enduring relationships with a portfolio of funded organisations. This will include awareness of their performance against their business plan, their funding agreement with Arts Council England, and of their artistic work to identify their investment needs.

The role will include monitoring the performance of regularly funded organisations, advising applicants on our funding programmes, and working with stakeholders to identify opportunities and challenges within the sector.

Key requirements:

You will have specific knowledge and expertise in combined arts which could include festivals, outdoor work and carnival. But a broad experience of working with artists and organisations across art forms would also be useful. You will also have a good understanding of the cultural sector in England and of the current challenges and opportunities facing it, and excellent skills in collaboration, influencing and advocacy, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

You will need a good understanding of organisational dynamics including business planning, financial reporting, performance management and governance. With a diverse portfolio of external partner relationships to maintain, you will be self-reliant and enjoy travelling and meeting new people. Experience of working with local authority and other strategic partners would also be an advantage.

Internally, you will be part of the South West team and the national Combined Arts team, working with colleagues, sharing your expertise and helping to shape our strategy locally and nationally.
