Artist Residency, Spring 2018 - Strike A Light

Strike A Light, in partnership with the Hawkwood Artist Residency Programme based in the Cotswolds, is offering week long residencies in Spring 2018 to contemporary theatre or dance artists developing new work.

What we can offer artists:

We can offer a five day residency in Feb/ March 2018 with studio space, plus accommodation and meals at Hawkwood, Stroud. In addition each artist or company will receive £200 towards travel/ residency expenses.

Artists will have the option to share their work in progress during their residency, receive producer support, and potentially to work with our national partners to showcase their work.

Some things to think about:

We are interested in work that is contemporary, exciting, and has the potential to develop into a finished piece.

We are keen to hear from artists where there is the possibility of us building a longer term relationship and therefore artists working in The South West, West Midlands etc.

The funded residency will be supporting artists who would not otherwise be able to pay for it themselves (value of £500 per person per week board and lodging and studio space).

The residency aims to give artists the opportunity to have time and space away from their usual environment and obligations and provide a space for reflection, research, collaboration, presentation and/or production

We are particularly interested in receiving applications from artists from diverse backgrounds and artists from underrepresented groups

If you have a piece in development or a new idea you would like to share, please get in touch.

Application should be submitted by 12 December 2017.

Successful applicants will be notified by 18 December 2017.

Please note that submissions received after the deadline will not be considered.
The actual dates of the residency will be agreed upon in discussion with the artists and you can specify preferences in your application.
