Angel Exit Theatre - Martha Brown (touring) -Male Casting Call

Angel Exit Theatre are casting for their Autumn tour of The Ballad of Martha Brown

The Ballad of Martha Brown was created and went on a small tour last year. It is based on the true story of the last woman to be publicly hanged in Dorset for killing her abusive husband with an axe and then blaming it on the horse. The story is told by a gang of hollow-eyed buffoon storytellers, the previous victims of showman hangman from London, William Calcraft. Performed by an ensemble of five performers, the show is interspersed with gallows humour and live and recorded original music. It tours again this Autumn to a variety of small and mid-scale venues including Newbury Corn Exchange, Marlowe Theatre Canterbury and Halifax Square Chapel.
Angel Exit will also take it to colleges, schools and rural venues and run a programme of workshops alongside the show.
They are looking for two flexible and energetic male actors able to work as an ensemble, create strongcharacters and join in all aspects of touring required.

Performances: Tours from 21st September to 25th October
Location: Dorset and UK tour (most venues in South West, tour van will drop off in London)
