Come join The Remix fun during February half term!
Would you like to join The Remix Performing Arts Company in the February half term? There are two opportunities in East and West Dorset for young people aged 11-19 years.
The Remix, Dorset’s very own integrated youth performance company will be joining forces with Dorset Youth Dance (DYD) company and feeder class this February half term. Remix East, Remix West and DYD will work with national and international professional artists in creating performance material to be showcased at Activate’s Youth Platform in March 2017.
Young people from Remix East who are disabled and non disabled will team up with DYD company in creating a performance piece choreographed by artists Claire Benson (former Motion House Dance Company artist and Artistic Director of DYD) and Aimee Smith (Remix East Artistic Director and community dance specialist) at Poole High School on the 15th and 16th February 2017, 10am – 3pm.
In Bridport, Remix West and DYD’s feeder class will be teaming up with artist’s affiliated with The Complete Freedom of Truth (TCFT). TCFT is led by Bristol based Opera Circus and 12 other UK and European partners as part of a five year youth-led project. Young people from these areas are invited to participate in a residency led by international artists at Bridport Arts Centre on the 13th, 14th February 10am –3pm with a performance sharing on 17th February 2017.
The Remix is an integrated youth performance company for young people aged 11- 19 years. Remix East meets at Pavilion Dance South West in Bournemouth and Remix West at Thomas Hardye School dance studio. The Remix is open to both young people who are disabled and non disabled and provides exciting opportunities for young people to work with professional artists in dance, theatre, circus and film. Workshops cost £7.50 per day/ session.
