Activate's Dance Producer takes on the Paris Marathon - raising funds for her Arts & Health project

A message from Rosalind

I am running the Paris Marathon on 9th April to raise money for performance work in hospitals- please support me.

I am running the Paris marathon to raise money for a very special performance project that will benefit many patients in several hospitals in the South West- initially Salisbury, Dorchester and Yeovil.

Activate are working together with a number of hospitals and performing artists to create a programme of intimate, bespoke performances specifically for the hospital environment.

To start with, we will be working with Lorna Rees, Gobbledegook Theatre to develop her performance piece, Cloudscapes (you may have seen it as part of Hengistbury Headlines at this year's Inside Out Dorset Festival?)  who will transform the experience into a one to one, interactive, bedside performance where participants are invited to watch the clouds go by above, while listening - and talking - about life journeys.

We know from our project experience, what powerful outcomes this type of work can have for hospital patients, their families and the staff.

Please sponsor me and support this vital work, which will enable poorly people in hospital to enjoy high-quality performances, just like the rest of us can when we’re well.

This is my first marathon. I'm training hard, but am not a natural runner, so it won't come easy. But one way or another I intend to cross that finish line. I won't be fast but I will be massively inspired by knowing that you have sponsored me to just keep going and then we can make some fantastic work happen in hospitals.
