Volunteers required Inside Out Dorset

Rock the Boat Volunteering Opportunities

For the first time this Summer, Activate will present a one-off, Inside Out Dorset signature event in Weymouth as part of the Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival.

It includes the outstanding Le Cirque Du Platzak (details below) but also a very special set of interactive music installations 'Rock the Boat' that will be dotted around the seafood festival site.

This is why we want musical volunteers! Can you sing and play acoustic guitar?

Each of the installations is a reclaimed rowing boat, complete with an acoustic guitar fixed inside. Passers-by are encouraged to stop and play a while. The boats are perfect for sitting in and entertaining visitors to the seafood festival.

We would like our tuneful volunteers to inform the public about this unusual performance opportunity. Play a song, sing, encourage participation, act as MC and encourage turn-taking.

We would love to hear from you if you would enjoy this opportunity to showcase your own talents and encourage others to do likewise.

Le Cirque Du Platzak Volunteering Opportunities

This July, Activate are presenting a one-off Inside Out Dorset signature event at the Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival.

Did you manage to see Le Cirque Du Platzak in Gillingham as part of Inside Out Dorset Festival in September 2016? The audience absolutely LOVED them. We thought they deserved another chance to thrill and amaze.

As part of the Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival, Activate present Le Cirque Du Platzak who will perform their acclaimed show, Kermiz - including a temperamental Italian aerialist fighting with a Spanish toreador, an acrobat obsessed with staplers, a very daring ballet dancer, a chap with an strange fascination for lawnmowers and lettuce. Just a taste of some of the characters you will encounter. All in a specially constructed outdoor stage by the harbourside. To add to the fast-paced thrills, a highly skilled band of international musicians will play a live klezmer music accompaniment.

There are volunteer roles available for Box office, stewarding, assisting audience, information, ticket checking. Full safety briefings and equality training are given as part of the role.
