About the role
Edge Arts are looking for an articulate, self-motivated and highly organised individual to join our team based at The University of Bath. Working with our Marketing and Audience Development Manager you will implement and deliver cross media promotional material for The Edge arts centre programme. You should have excellent administration and communication skills and experience of working in a contemporary arts marketing environment.
You will have a natural passion for writing and content creation, working to deliver and monitor social media strategies, targeted email campaigns, online content creation and more. Social media experience is essential for this role and you should possess a strong understanding of the following platforms, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as well as seeking out new social media avenues and ways of connecting with new audiences.
You will co-ordinate and distribute regular Edge Arts updates, across various platforms which will include print and digital media to keep our audiences on and off campus up to date with fresh and relevant information about our programme. An eye for detail is essential as you will be required to proof read material as necessary along with accurate data entry skills. You will work to document activities and work with colleagues including the Box Office team at The Edge to collate and analyse audience data to help inform future campaigns. Monitoring and archiving press coverage of programmes will also be necessary.
About The Edge and Edge Arts
Since opening in 2015, the University of Bath’s arts and creativity hub The Edge has successfully offered its programme to a growing visitor base. The centre offers an active environment for people from all walks of life, fostering transformative and personal growth derived from arts-centric approaches. Exhibitions, performing arts presentations, talks, arts classes, family and community events provide experiences of educational, emotional, intellectual benefit often in participatory forums.
Whether located at our building on campus or elsewhere, programmes are informed by our interface with core stakeholder the University of Bath and its disciplinary context. Current exhibition Brutalist Playground is an example of this. It showcases the creativity in architecture and evidences links to the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering.
Programmes at The Edge and elsewhere are coordinated by Edge Arts, (formerly ICIA), the University of Bath’s unit for the provision of arts for public consumption. Edge Arts also support the extra- curricular interests of students engaged in the performing and visual arts and increasingly the research synergies between staff and students and the creative profession.
